Anthony Pagliaro and Shelton High School Education Funds
Est. 2014 as scholarship funds at VCF.
In 2014 Shelton High School entrusted the management of its Scholarship and Award Funds to the Valley Community Foundation. As part of this new partnership, a portfolio of non-endowed and endowed scholarship funds are now being financially managed by VCF. Since that time the Anthony Pagliaro Fund and the Shelton High School Education Fund have become endowed funds at VCF.
Anthony Pagliaro Sr. was a distinguished educator in Shelton who passed away in May of 2015. The contributions made in Mr. Pagliaro's memory have enabled the scholarship to become a permanently endowed fund at VCF. The scholarship is awarded to a high ranking student accepted to a four-year college, whose community and school service has improved the quality of life in those respective areas.
The scholarship from the Shelton High School Education Fund is presented to a graduating senior(s) that exemplify the traits of the Gael guidelines: respect, responsibility and safety.
Dr. Beth A. Smith, Headmaster of Shelton High School, said, "Shelton High School is a learning community with high academic expectations. We are proud these two awards can become endowed funds at VCF and together we look forward to supporting the well-deserving graduates of Shelton High School for years to come."
The Anthony Pagliaro Fund and the Shelton High School Education Fund join the family of Shelton High School Scholarship Funds managed by VCF.
