Intersectionality & the Complexity of our Beautiful Skin: The Journey of Becoming Black Latinx in the U.S.A.

Developing a racially conscious, vigilant state of mind demands understanding our own identity's intersectionality with all dimensions of equity.

Through interactive sessions, we will explore critical social justice concepts that will set the foundation to engage in a thoughtful exploration of structural and systemic practices that perpetuate prejudice and injustice.

The concept of "otherness" will be explored as a way to intentionally interrupt and critically interrogate how discrimination and injustice find their way in our culture and traditions — and manage to impact our identities.

Together, we will examine how society serves to normalize and replicate injustice through images and ideas. Leaders will explicitly exchange perspectives about the cumulative impact of institutionalized practices that perpetuate the devastating effects of racism, exclusion and prejudice in our children and our communities.

Each session is independent of the other and is limited in capacity:
