In Response to COVID-19, Changes to Our Needs and Opportunities (N&O) Grant Process
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, VCF has changed the priorities of our Needs and Opportunities grant process and will give priority to requests that are directly related to program and/or staffing modifications that have been made in response to the crisis.
It has been the policy of the Valley Community Foundation (VCF) to make grants in a range from $250 to $10,000 to contribute to and support innovative programs and the urgent needs of our local nonprofits serving the towns of Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and/or Shelton, Connecticut.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, VCF is changing the priorities of our Needs and Opportunities (N&O) grant process and will give priority to requests that are directly related to program and/or staffing modifications that have been made in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Beginning April 27th, N&O Grants will be reviewed on a first come, first served rolling grant process throughout the remainder of 2020. Grants will still range from $250 - $10,000.
Examples of potential funding include but are not limited to providing a program or service virtually, or capacity building needs such as hiring a consultant to provide budget assistance, or purchasing technology to enable virtual programming or allowing staff to work. Please note: these grant dollars cannot be used to fund past debt or general operating support for lost revenue.
In addition, an organization that has already received needs and opportunities funding from VCF in 2020 is eligible to submit a subsequent needs and opportunities grant request if it is directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All applicants must be a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) or other applicable section of the Internal Revenue Code, or must have a fiscal sponsor with such appropriate status.?? Any grant recipient must adhere to a policy of non-discrimination on the basis of age, sex, religion, national origin and sexual preference in all aspects of organization operations.?
