Valley Community Foundation is back as a major sponsor of The Great Give May 1st – 2nd

Derby, Conn. (April 30, 2018) --The Valley Community Foundation (VCF) is once again supporting The Great Give® 2018, the ninth community-wide online giving event created by its partner in philanthropy, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. The giving event raises funds for local nonprofits serving the 20-town region spanning the Greater New Haven region, which includes the Valley, over a fun, 36-hour period starting at 8:00 a.m. on May 1 and ending at 8:00 p.m. on May 2.
Gifts made to the over 480 participating nonprofits will be eligible for more than $240,000 in matching funds and prizes. As the second largest sponsor of the giving event, VCF has set aside a matching pool of $20,000. All donations made during The Great Give® 2018 by Valley donors to participating nonprofits will receive a prorated portion of the match pool.
In addition to the VCF matching pool, there are a number of prizes for Valley donors, which include prizes for the greatest number of Valley donors ($2,000), greatest number of new Valley donors ($2,000), five Early Bird Prizes ($1,000), Valley Early Bird New Donor Prize ($250), Valley Early Bird Dollars Raised Prize ($250) and two Valley Lucky Draw Prizes ($250).
Longtime sponsor, the Liberty Bank Foundation has also provided two $1,000 prizes this year: one to the Valley organization working in Basic Needs and the other to the Valley organization working in Youth or Education. Both prize-winning Valley organizations must have the greatest number of unique donors between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on May 2 for their specific issue area.
New sponsor, BADS SONS Beer Co. has also provided an additional $1,000 prize to the Valley organization with the greatest number of donors between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on May 2.
